Hope
Date of Birth: September 2023
Breed: Unknown - possibly large white
Hope is one of three piglets that were abandoned in local woodland in Autumn 2023. We discovered that they had been living there for up to five weeks, and locals had been feeding them. However, they were barely surviving, and Hope had already been attacked and had a very large open wound on the back of her neck that was infested with maggots. They had also attracted the attention of a local group of hunters who were making arrangements to go out and shoot them, so we had to act quickly.
The piglets arrived here on bonfire night 2023. We quickly treated Hope's wound and gave her antibiotics to stop infection. She made a full recovery and the scar is hardly visible now.
Hope is a feisty young girl, and is very food orientated. She can often be found up near the cafe on a weekend, and has made great friends with cafe volunteer Molly.
